Stable Lands City Double
The trip to Flemington on Saturday 13 December proved to be a successful one with the stable landing two winners from two runners.
After a 24 week spell to correct a throat problem, a return to the racetrack has been successful to date for 5yo gelding Amerryking. His first up effort at Moonee Valley was encouraging where over 1000m he came from last to finish third, then backing up with an impressive win at Flemington on Saturday over 1200m in the Allbern Print and Design Sprint. A return trip to the Standish on New Years Day may now be on the cards after a 2-1/2 length defeat in the same race last year.
Following in the footsteps of her stable mate, 3yo filly Chortova stepped up in class to a 3yo Western Health Handicap over 1600m. Racing in career best form Chortova was caught wide throughout the race but managed to outstay her rivals for a solid win. Congratulations to jockey Mark Pegus who rode the city double for Redgum Racing.
