Sherpa Gets Back In The Winners Stall
After an average performance first up Sherpa hit back with a strong win at Bairnsdale on Cup Day. In a 0-68 1000mtr Handicap with 59kgs on his back, jockey Noel Callow was able to position himself third on the fence before acquiring a run at the turn and running down the second place horse to score a length win. It was the second time Sherpa has won and broken 58 secs for the 1000mtrs stopping the clock at 57.99 secs.
