Power Trip Win's The Maribyrnong Plate

After an impressive official trial win at Cranbourne on the 20th October 2015 over 800 metres, it was now off to Flemington on the final day of the carnival to see if the son of Hard Spun was the real deal.

With small numbers accepted for the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate, it still looked a very tough assignment, with last start winners and some high priced yearlings having there first look at the track. With Craig Williams aboard the race was split in two halves, with Craig deciding to head to the outside rail with two other runners. Travelling well, Power Trip lead for most of the race and held off challenges on the inside rail to score in the narrowest of margins and claim a Group 3 win in his first racetrack appearance. It is now off to the paddock for a short spell before hopefully returning to take on the better 2yo races in the Autumn.
