After 9 starts which included a third place in the Listed Anzac Day Stakes, El Rocko was still searching for that elusive Maiden win. At Ballarat on July 10th 2022 in a 1200 metre Maiden on a Heavy 8, the son of Fastnet Rock won his maiden in style. After settling midfield, jockey Jamie Mott angled El Rocko off the fence on the turn and let down quickly to score a very impressive 7 length Maiden win.
