Slade filly ploughs through the mud
With 2 promising runs in black type races last preparation, And Rock hit the ground running in her first start back with a solid second in a provincial race. With that run under her belt she was taken to a 2yo Fillies Handicap over 1300mtrs at Sandown on the 27th July 2011. After drawing a touch awkward, jockey Chris Symons was able to snag the daughter of Fastnet Rock back early in a good position. With 500mtrs to go he got the filly clear and surged forward through the Heavy 10 conditions to score a good 1.8length win.
